Our 2017-2018 Goals Are Ambitious and We Need Your Help!

Now that we’ve helped Ventura become the only large No Kill county in California and sustain that status over time, we’re anxious to move forward to secure a training facility and sanctuary, fund a Paw Works mobile spay and neuter clinic, and continue delivering care to animals beyond Ventura County.

Training Facility & Animal Sanctuary

Paw Works continues to work toward opening a unique boarding and training facility, which also will incorporate a sanctuary for the injured, disabled or older animals we rescue.

This innovative facility will allow us to rescue larger breeds, train dogs with behavioral issues and socialize those who have never had the opportunity to join a pack. With training and socialization, these animals will become more adoptable to the public and reduce the need for euthanasia in local shelters. And, the hospice sanctuary will give animals with medical issues or in the final stages of life the home atmosphere they need and deserve during a difficult time.

Mobile Spay & Neuter Clinic

At present Paw Works offers free spay and neuter clinics to low income residents of Ventura County. To further our efforts to attack pet overpopulation at its root cause, we hope to purchase and staff a mobile spay and neuter vehicle and provide educational outreach to support this effort. This program will offer free spaying, neutering, vaccines and microchipping in underserved areas of our community.
